A new school to grow Aotearoa’s healthcare workforce.
With the health system under pressure, UP Education set up a new school to grow the country’s understaffed healthcare workforce.
We worked with UP to develop the school’s name, positioning, brand identity & campaign photography for the just-launched Healthcare Academy of New Zealand.
The team calls it 'A new school for a new generation of healthcare professionals'.
The work was a collaboration with designers Unsworth Shepherd. Here’s some notes into the distinctive design:
- The brand identity is based on poutama, a traditional Māori pattern found in weaving and artwork.
- This stepped pattern symbolises levels of learning and growth, always moving upwards towards something better.
- The student journey and progression are at the heart of the new brand - here is how we wrote it:
‘Healthcare Academy of New Zealand is dedicated to education and connecting the next generation of aspiring healthcare professionals in New Zealand, by providing a supportive, relevant and seamless journey from class to clinic to career to community’ .
